It’s here again! Disney’s Running Shorts (5ks) are here. The Virtual Running Shorts run from the beginning of June to the end of August.
The first virtual race registration started Apr 11th – Jun 29th. You can register here for the Virtual Running shorts if you would love to join us and have some running fun. This year’s races are to benefit the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. Virtual Race participants also can choose to donate to them.
Last year, I did them in preparation for the WDW Wine and Dine Half Marathon (2016). It was a great experience. It made me want to run as many days a week as I can to get a great 5k in all of my runs. No matter how long my runs were, there would always be a 5k that I could use asn part of it. And if I did not like the way one went, I would just run again the next day and use my best time. It was a great game that I played with myself all summer.
This year the first race is promoting running with your dog. It’s important that we learn to how to exercise your dog properly. And do not forget to use your best judgement before going for your first run with your dog. *(Preachy part coming up) Dogs tend to please people and keep running even when tired. But then again, I have seen a dog run a full marathon in France. So, I am not sure how it worked, but he was at the start and the finish.
I cannot wait to start! See you adventurous types June 1st on the road.
Here are a few facts about the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando– Pet Alliance is Central Florida’s oldest and largest animal welfare agency.
